Titan Blog # 1 - The Latest

Dear Supporters,

Welcome to our newly updated website. Yes, it has taken a while, but this long-held dream of building the world's largest ocean liner, Titan, is now finally nearing the finish line.

This effort, stretching originally to January 1998, and re-incarnated in 2008, has had many ups and downs for sure, but through the hard work of many, it is now on the verge of reality.

2016 will be the breakout year we have all been waiting for.

But now the SS Titan Foundation needs your help, as a non-profit, to bring this to fruition. With a small base of nearly 12,000 Facebook supporters, we need to drastically expand our worldwide support.

The goal? To sell a minimum of 10 million Foundation memberships over the next 3 years to raise the bulk of the funds to not only construct this historic liner, but more importantly to begin our charitable efforts and obligation to the sick and needy children of this world we aim to impact from our operation.

Impossible? Certainly not. For example, the Facebook "Titanic" movie page has over 56 million unique followers. Getting just 20% of them would put us very close to our goal.

Our plan is to sell these memberships at a minimum commitment of $10 (US) per month for 36 months.

With 10 million memberships, which will come with perk levels depending on the donation amount, the Foundation will raise $100 million a month, much of which will initially go into Titan's construction, while a minimum of 10% of this will flow through to our charitable goals from the first donation. Upon Titan becoming operational, in 2021, 100% of surplus revenue from Titan's operations, including ongoing donations, estimated at $2.3 billion per year beginning in 2022, will begin to make positive major impacts for those we seek to help through Titan.

What's next for this effort?

To begin seeking private donations over the next few months to raise the $200 million needed to push Titan into development by 2018, develop our offices and staff, acquire our 501c3 status, and to cultivate that needed support base through a media campaign beginning by the end of this year.

What can you do to help?

A lot. Spread the word to your family, friends, co-workers. Contact your local media to let them know about our plans.

Every person matters who believes in our cause. Every person who wants to help build a dynamic organization focused on giving back and improving the world through this "Ship of Ages" matters.

I want to donate now. Can I?

Yes.

Currently the SS Titan Foundation is in the early stages of applying for it's 501c3 tax exempt status from the IRS, and cannot yet offer a tax deduction for your donation, but you can still donate to help us reach our short term goals. We can accept donations up to $50 per month, but anything helps us move forward.

10% of these monies will be directed into a "Titan Children's Fund" which will eventually be distributed, by law, to the charitable aims for which the Foundation has been founded; 20% will be distributed for organizational expenditures; 40% will go towards the initial design for Titan (estimated at $200,000 in US dollars); and the remaining 30% will be used to continue our ad campaign to expand our Facebook presence.

This is an exciting time, and we are very excited to see this all coming together. We sincerely appreciate the ongoing support of the Titanic, Liner Enthusiast, Travel, and Charitable communities in this effort.
